Microsoft Office 2013 Announcement (HD)

(7/16/2012) Today Microsoft announced the consumer preview of the latest version of their Office suite, Microsoft Office 2013 (code-named “Office 15”). Watch the video of the live announcement from Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer. Updates include cloud subscriptions, an updated interface influenced by the Metro style, improvements in touch interaction, and more.

Skill Builder Minute – 5 Reasons to Make Annual Meetings Hybrid

Hi — I’m Don Cameron, founder of ConferTel and in this Webinar Skill Builder Minute I’m going to give you 5 reasons why most organizations these days are making their annual meeting hybrid.

First is extending their reach. Normally less than 10% of members attend an annual in-person session. Meaning 90% don’t get any benefit from it. A digital extension allows them to reach more members and provide more value for their membership fee.

Second is giving members a taste of what they’re missing. The digital extension allows them to showcase and deliver the best elements of their Annual Session – especially in the educational sessions. They don’t “give it all away” online, of course, just a taste to whet member’s appetite.

And that leads to the next benefit, which is Converting Digital Attendees to In-Person Attendees the next year. Just how effective the digital extension is in driving face-to-face attendance is going to depend on the quality and value of the content.

The 4th reason is building Industry Leadership. I’m not sure who first said, “A leader leads by example – whether he intends to or not”. The hybrid event allows organizations to further their leadership position among other organizations in their industry, in many cases through the strategic inclusion of these organizations in the hybrid event strategy.

And the final reason for going Hybrid is to increase the ROI for exhibitors.Virtually all Annual Sessions require the support of exhibitors. The digital extension provides new and creative opportunities to benefit the exhibitor community, who can now reach more members online.
