iLOG Phone Date: 20120815 160443: Office 365 can be a great move for companies ANY SIZE, 1 – 1,999,999,999,999 employees. If you company is 50,000 or less, the standard Office 365 E1-E3 plans should be just perfect for you. For larger corporations, 100,000 or higher, you may want to think about the Office 365-D (D for Dedicated). With Office 365, you will always have the latest stable release of Office Professional Plus (E3 plan or higher), the latest SharePoint release, Exchange, and Microsoft Lync. You do not have to worry about maintaining servers, data centers, and higher a huge IT staff. You can reduce cost with Microsoft Office 365 and other cloud services.

LYNC ONLINE HELP

In order to take full advantage of Office 365, there are four CNAME records, one TXT record, one MX record, and two SRV records that you need to add to your DNS. If your host or registrar does not support this, you may need to switch to a new registrar. My preference is GoDaddy. Network Solution is another good one. Lync, by itself, requires FOUR DNS records. If you have an internal DNS server, you may need to add one more CNAME record. See the next link for DNS records for the public DNS entries. Below that, there are some more links that can help you with Lync set up.

Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium Preview

This is the Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium Preview which released recently.

To use this Office Preview, internet connection is required; and you must be signed in with a Windows Live account.

For 64-bit users: 32-bit Office Preview is recommended for most users as there’s a compatibility issues with 64-bit Office Preview and 64-bit OS.

You can install Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium on a maximum of 5 computers and users.

Office 365 Home Premium requires Windows 7 and Windows 8 Release Preview, as it doesn’t support Windows XP or Vista.

Office 365 Home Premium provides native Metro support for Windows 8 Release Preview. For more details, please check this FAQ: http://www.microsoft.com/office/preview/en/faq

To make Office 365 run, you must meet and exceed all of the requirements:

Computer and processor: 1 GHz or greater x86/x64 Processor with SSE2 instruction set

Memory: 1GB RAM for 32-bit and 2GB for 64-bit

Hard disk: 3.5GB free disk space

Operating System: Windows 7 or newer, either 32-bit or 64-bit; Windows 2008 R2 or newer with .NET Framework 3.5 or greater. It isn’t possible to install on a PC running Windows XP or Vista. To use with Windows 8 you must be running the Release Preview version or higher.

Graphics hardware acceleration requires DirectX 10 graphics card and 1024×576 resolution or higher.

Running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 32-bit with all updates at 1920×1080 resolution.
