Employee Unions in America are not good for U.S. small businesses?

How come Unions like the autoworkers union and other unions say, "We are not only for better worker pay, but we can HELP/WORK WITH management to accomplish company goals."

Every Union bargains with management of the company or companies to help management’s productivity by collaborating with management.

Doesn’t this mean the Unions are saving businesses not hurting them? For example, the Autoworkers Union claims they saved General Motors by agreeing to forego wage adjustments for workers in an effort to help and stuff
so why aren’t more small businesses Pro-Union to help them do a better job?

And why aren’t more corporations pro-Government to help them out? where the US Government sends a team of expert Govt Employees paid at Govt salaries to help private corporate managers solve problems?

Unions are good for everybody. Many employers, however, prefer to run a feudal fiefdom where the workers are forced to take whatever scraps their ‘lord and master’ tosses to them.

There are employers who are pro-union. Many construction companies will tell you that they are glad to have a highly qualified union workforce to get jobs done on time and under budget.

Would You Even Consider A Traitor For Election To The Office Of President Of The United States?

If Not Before You Vote Google: Republicans Allege McCain Covered Up His Collaboration With The North Vietnamese While A POW.

Fact is John McCain repudiated his allegiance to the United States and transferred his allegiance to the North Vietnamese.

Of vital concern though is why mainstream media has not reported this.
GJL: McCain was not tortured. i.e. Google: Tapes McCain Made For His Communist Captors.

Kelly V: Review the Source I Provided. Also Google: Tapes McCain Made For His Communist Captors.
Kelly V: Review the Sources I provided.
Mamapie2: USMC Vietnam era Veteran, Sweetie.
Tim: Sorry Son. Enemies of the United States already tried that but got nowhere with me.

Nope that is why I am a Republican Vet voting for Obama.

Can I email the Office of Admissions of a certain school to request a pamphlet?

If I emailed the Office of Admissions of a certain school and I requested a pamphlet, would they send one to me? Also, can I ask any question to the Office of Admissions or am I limited to just generic ones?

Yes you can request anything that they would have (pamphlet, application, etc). You might also be able to find those things online; especially the application. You can also ask them questions. In fact, if they don’t answer your questions or don’t want to, that speaks heavily about the school. I work at the college I attend and we always try to be very open to students and answer any question they have. From the school’s perspective, they want you to go there, so they’d want to answer your questions and help you. If they don’t answer your questions, what does that say about how helpful people will be when you need help in a class or need advice from a professor?

Im using win vista is there a way to change my default mail program to a web based email app?

I dont want to use outlook, but it pops up every time I click on a link in ie to email someone.
Im new to vista and need a step by step on how to change the settings. Thanx

no, you have to put your POP settings in to windows mail (or outlook if you have it) most mail services do not support settng them as the default mail provider, I think only hotmail does.

there is a way to do it though if you really want, but it is very complicated and i would have to guide you through it, if you really want to do it email me dreamopalms@yahoo.com

Can i use Microsoft Exchange?

I have access to online OWA but colleagues of mine have had their work laptops set up by IT to work with Microsoft Exchange. I have tried to set it up myself but am not getting very far. Is it possible that my account somehow needs to be activated whereas theres have already been? I cannot contact IT to ask, but should it be possible that if I have the information from their outlooks I should be able to set up my own? What information would I need? Does it have any influence that my work blackberry works on enterprise? Obviously I don’t know very much about all of this, but any help is massively appreciated!!

Please let me know if Any more information will make a difference.

Thanks in advance.

The information on the other employee’s laptop does not give you all the information you need to use Exchange. I also have not way (nor do you) of telling if your e-mail account is "Exchange activated" or not. It is very possible the IT personal has to do set up at their end before the account will work. You need to contact your IT team and ask them. Only they can answer the questions.

What’s the best laptop for me?

I’m a graphic and web designer and need a laptop, but not sure which is the right one for me. Should I stay clear of certain manufacturers? What I think I need: pentium 4 processor, lots of ram (how much?) a large hard drive (80 gb) and a nVidia (sp) video card. What else? Price is also an issue for me. I can’t spend more than $1500 (which means I’m leaning toward a PC) I’ll be running Adobe Creative Suite and the standard Office apps. Any recommendations?

Business Interuption Liability?

A small local factory had a chemical spill which forced the police / fire dept to close down the area for the business day. Our business was interupted and the loss exceeded $2500 due to sal & productivity. Is that business obligated to compensate us?

The key to this question is – Was the small local factory negligent? All liability claims require proof of negligence. What caused the spill? Call the small factory and ask for their insurance information and submit a claim directly through their company instead of your own – Deciding liability can be clear cut or very hazy. Make the phone call – the worst they can do is deny and you haven’t lost anything.

What email client and/or groupware do you use at your company?

If you have time, can you please also read below…

If you know, can you please tell additional info like pros and cons? =)

Because aside from basic email, calendar, address book features etc, we NEED to be able to do things such as:

a. create/program electronic forms
b. route documents among different people (for approval etc)
c. repository of documents (possibly limiting access to certain people) or company-wide reports
d. …etc etc

These are possible in Lotus Notes, right? We’re also looking for other alternatives. How about Microsoft Outlook? Can we do the things I listed above? Like create simple programs for e-forms and routing? Haven’t actually tried Office 2007 but I heard it already has very good collaboration tools (Grove? SharePoint? Can these programs do the above?). How about any good open source solutions?

Your help would be greatly appreciated! =) Thank very much!!

You can go down the Lotus notes route, or you can go with Microsoft.

Sharepoint is the Microsoft document collaboration server – if you alreday have a Windows Server, I’m not sure it costs much/anything in licensing to add Sharepoint – check that.

Outlook is a fantastic tool for mail, calendar management/sharing and tasking.

Electronic forms are made with the rest of the MS Office suite.
