Best virtual office software?

A friend of mine is running a small web design company in Delhi. His design team – all regular employees – telecommute from different cities in India.

Now my friend wants to set up a virtual office using a web-based service for collaboration, project management, etc., with some reasonable file storage space. Something that can be accessed with a web browser.

I’d like to know which is the best, reliable, stable, generally easy to use virtual office service on the Net. It can be free or something cheap. Your suggestions would be very much appreciated!

hope this helps

Please help! My classes start monday and I have no way to e-mail my professors if I need to, and I have no idea what’s wrong.

I think I found the fix. This works for me anyway, hopefully it will work for you too.

In Internet Explorer under the ‘Tools’ drop down menu, I selected ‘Manage Add-ons’.

From there make sure ‘Toolbars and Extensions’ on the left is highlighted. On the right I selected all of my Divx add-ons and disabled them.

I closed my browser and re-opened it. I can now use Outlook Web Access !

Hope this helps,

HI Kelly,

I am getting the exact same error. Please post when you have it fixed and I will do the same. I have sent an e-mail to my university’s classroom support services group and hopefully they will respond asap as I need to use this account for my class as well.

A Comprehensive answer will be very much appreciatd. More over the domain confirmation of the origin of the message is also reflected in the e-mail. They are asking to provide the following information:
Name, Country, Contact address, Tel No:,Marital status, Date of birth, and Occupation. Awaiting early responses for the correct position of this e-mail .Thanks

It’s a phishing scam, period .You didn’t enter a lottery, and YAHOO isn’t running a lottery. All you are going to win is an empty bank account and more trouble than you ever dreamed of. If you want to bother, forward the fraudulent email to,, and

why is Outlook Web App ruining my e-mail?

i have an E-mail that is specifically for my college and whenever i go to it on my laptop it gives me the error message: This account does not have an Outlook Web App mailbox. and it doesn’t let me get to my mail. Now i know this account DOES have outlook web app mailbox because it works on my home computer. I would like it to work in google chrome but i think i’ve read somewhere that it only works on Safari and IE. Of course i’ve tried to get to my e-mail on both of those browsers. Does anyone know a solution to this? Any help would be greatly appreciated! :]

Sounds like you may need to autenticate it on your computer? My advice is check with your college’s It website ot contact them. They would know more and maybe have this problem all the time.

how to set up Outlook web access?

I want to use an app "iMExchange2" for an Iphone that will allow me to sync my Outlook tasks. It requires info on server and domain name. It requires use of "Outlook web access". How do I setup my Yahoo mail plus email with "Outlook web access"? It appears that I may need an Exchange server. I don’t see that I have one but am not sure.

Outlook Web Access is a component of Microsoft Exchange server. If you don’t have Exchange you will not be able to use this App.

Is there a way to sync my college Outlook Web App email address with my iPhone mail application?

My college sets each student up with their own email address ( These email addresses run on an online web app of Outlook. Is there anyway I can sync this with my iPhone’s Mail application? I’ve tried and it then takes me to a screen with the IMAP or POP options, ingoing and outgoing host names, etc. Does anyone know how to set it up?

Thanks in advance.
That also asks me for information which I do not know for sure, like the domain and server name.
I guessed the server name was up in the address bar, but the domain name I do not know, and when I pressed "Next", it said it couldn’t do it.

Your college is probably using a Microsoft Exchange server. Just select Microsoft Exchange when you set up a new account.

How can I access my microsoft outlook web access pop info?

I need to gain the pop or inmp (?) info for my exsisting Microsoft Outlook Web Access account so that I can sync it into another email app. How can I get this info? Is there a standard pop? What about port #’s?

Your question is way too vague. Is it a work account, or something else?

Where can I find a picture from the 1970/80s of an office with people working at their desks like in 9 to 5?

I am trying to find this type of picture to demonstrate the differences between workplaces of the past and now. I have seen images like this in movies like 9 to 5 and in Superman where there is a large room with many people working independently at desks. Any specific picture sources that show office type work environments with no collaboration would be great. I’ve already tried Google image searches and Flickr.

You can find a lot of pictures on the Smithsonian website here: , specifically (1988) and (1987). There are also lots of older photos of offices on that website.

I also found this from 1965:

Here is a newsroom from the 1970s-1980s. There aren’t any overviews, but there are lots of interesting shots.
