Terms & Regulations

Scheduling
Our schedule changes daily, depending on other clients, traffic conditions and public transportation. You should allow us a one hour margin from your appointed time. If we schedule for 5:00pm, we might arrive as late as 6:00pm, but we always try our best to be punctual

Time = Money
When your technician comes over, please remember that time is money. Although we work very fast, we are not psychic and can never be 100% sure how much time a certain task could take. The charge is by an hourly rate, even if it takes 4 hours to do something you thought would take only 2 hours.

One Hour Minimum
The first charge is always for arriving/traveling and the first hour of work. Even if your problem is fixed after 9 minutes, you will still have to pay for the entire hour. After the first hour, charges will be made for parts of an hour (for example, 2 hours and 10 minutes).

Payment
We accept cash or checks (with a preference for cash). If you are a business, we can invoice you, and set up a time to be paid. For remote/online service, we accept payment through PayPal.com or Google Checkout.

Coverage Area
Since this is New York, most of our traveling takes place on public transportation, which means that if you live too far from the city, there will be an extra charge for the first hour (the hour that includes the traveling fee).

Who’s smartest — Alexa, Siri, Cortana, or Google Assistant?

When it comes to knowing stuff, Google Assistant on Google Home rules the virtual assistant world, according to results of a study conducted by Stone Temple Consulting earlier this year and released today.Microsoft’s Cortana was the second smartest, and Apple’s Siri and Amazon’s Alexa brought up the rear.Though Google ruled, “Cortana is pressing quite hard to close the gap, and has made great strides in the last three years” in terms of smartness, Stone Temple says. Unlike Google, “Alexa and Siri both face the limitation of not being able to leverage a full crawl of the web to supplement their knowledge bases. It will be interesting to see how they both address that challenge.”To read this article in full or to leave a comment, please click here

Are poor communities “redlined” out of AT&T’s fiber-to-the-home service?

It’s long been said that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. But now it appears that the rich get faster and the poor get slower – at least when it comes to Internet connections.A study by researchers at UC Berkeley’s Haas Institute found that AT&T’s deployment of ultra-faster fiber broadband in California is heavily concentrated in relatively wealthy neighborhoods, while residents of lower income communities are often left with speeds so slow they don’t even meet the FCC’s definition of broadband. It’s not surprising that a major ISP is catering to richer communities, but given the increasing importance of broadband to daily life, and the sad reality that lower income neighborhoods in California tend to be heavily minority, the report’s findings are concerning. To read this article in full or to leave a comment, please click here

How to switch from an iPhone to a Samsung Galaxy S8

If the Infinity Displays on the Galaxy S8 and S8+ have you itching to jump off the iOS bandwagon, you aren’t alone. I just made the switch from an iPhone 6 to the Galaxy S8 and it turns out it’s easier than ever to switch from iOS to Android. But here are a few things you need to know before you start using your Galaxy S8. Disable iMessage Before you do anything, you need to deregister your phone number from iMessage. This is the most important step if you’re switching from iOS to Android. If you forget to disable or deregister your number from Apple’s servers, every other iPhone will still think you have an iPhone. When your friends with iOS send an iMessage, you’ll never see it. Head into your iMessage settings on every iOS or MacOS device you own — it will need to be disabled on every Apple device registered to your iCloud account. On a Mac, head into Messages -> settings. Remove your phone number and uncheck “enable this account.” To disable iMessage on your iPad, head into setti

BlackBerry KeyOne to launch in US and Canada in late May

The BlackBerry KeyOne, an Android-based smartphone with a hardware keyboard, will be available in the U.S. and Canada from May 31, the phone’s maker said Thursday.TCL Communications, the Chinese company that acquired rights to produce BlackBerry-brand handsets, originally had said the phone would go on sale in April, so the delay may disappoint potential users. This could be a bad time to test the patience of potential buyers, as Samsung and LG are both heavily promoting their new flagship handsets, the S8 and G6.To read this article in full or to leave a comment, please click here

IDG Contributor Network: What makes Samsung Galaxy S8 the best phone you can buy

I pre-ordered the Samsung Galaxy S8 as soon as Samsung started taking orders. The phone arrived last week. For purposes of comparison, I have been using it alongside my iPhone 7 Plus and Google Pixel XL.This review is based on my own experience and how the phone could help me in my personal and professional life.Beauty lies in the… First things first, the hardware. Samsung Galaxy S8 is powered by MSM 8998 Octa Core 2.35Ghz (Quad Core) + 1.9Ghz (Quad) processor and 4GB of RAM. But beyond that, it’s a beautiful phone — from tip to toe. If I can paraphrase a dialogue from the movie The Matrix, I would say, ‘there is no phone, it’s just the screen.’To read this article in full or to leave a comment, please click here

IDG Contributor Network: How to prepare for the next major digital touchpoint, conversational commerce

“Digital” began to truly scale with the web, then expanded even further via apps and social.  Is conversational commerce (CC) the next major touchpoint?  Conversational commerce is defined as interacting with your customer in an automated dialog via voice or text. Based on our experience consulting large brands on the implementation of their digital innovations, and given trends on consumer adoption and technology-readiness, it is fair to say that we are at the dawn of the first wave of the broad implementation of conversational commerce. For several years, IBM has been painting a fanciful picture of its Watson technology’s ability to digest volumes of information, understand questions, and provide truly insightful answers.  Meanwhile, consumers are becoming more and more comfortable with dialog-style interactions via Siri, Google voice search, and Alexa. To read this article in full or to leave a comment, please click here
